On account of Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the tower was retitled as Elizabeth Tower. Another most striking feature of this palace is the chiming clock that is four-faced. It features the tallest clock tower (315 feet) that is not supported by any other structure. Augustus Pugin designed the dials and overall design of the clock. Big Ben was initially chimed in 1859 and is the largest bell of the tower. It is an iconic symbol for United Kingdom.
